The pre-war apartment located on the Upper West Side once belonged to Joan Michaels. She decided to go bold and chose a deep blue from Le Corbusier’s color system catalogue. A one of a kind metal sculpture from the 1950’s was found on a trip to the Palm Springs Modernism Show. A clean lined, timeless sofa designed by Ward Bennett (one of Joan’s favorite designers), a rare coffee table by Harry Balmer, rugs by Marta Maas Fjetterstrom were just several of the unique pieces found at auctions or flea markets that furnished the two bedroom apartment.
